Originally from Cork, Ireland and now residing in Fort Worth, TX RossNaTrá specializes in custom made furniture, surfboards and handcrafted goods. 

 

RossNaTrá is a play on the Irish words "Ros Na Tra" meaning "The Beach Wood". As an avid surfer, I find much of my inspiration derives from both the forest and sea. Growing up, I had a love of building and wood turning with my Grandfather who found a passion for woodwork in his retirement. In 2017, while living in New Zealand, I had to abruptly cut my time abroad short because my Grandfather had passed away. Funny how life works out because it was during that time, back in Ireland, that I was given the opportunity to join an apprenticeship and dedicate the next chapter of my life and eventual career to the art of woodwork. I went on to serve 4 years as an apprentice cabinet maker in Ireland under master cabinet maker Ronan Power. After qualification, I focused on honing my skills as a self employed furniture maker and realized my passion for making free-standing pieces that serve in both function and artistry.

I strive to incorporate traditional joinery with a modern style in my work. My goal is to create heirloom quality pieces that will want to be inherited; pieces that will stand timeless in any setting. I have a deep love of learning and am always looking to incorporate new techniques. I welcome a challenge and look forward to bringing your visions to life.
